Organ trio – Blues / Funk / Soul
Led by guitarist Jamie Howell from Reading, the Trio’s dynamic performances combine funky grooves with hot Blues guitar and some jazzier explorations bringing to mind The Meters jamming with John Scofield & Soulive rocking out with Stevie Ray Vaughan. They take the songs – some very well known, some less so – and make them their own stamping them with their signature sound of funky organ, bluesy guitar and grooving drums.

Simon Cook
Pianist – Jazz / Tropical
Simon Cook is a jazz piano player active in the Surrey and Berkshire area. He is a truly multi-talented artist! Originally trained as a classical musician, he also plays harpsichord, trombone and a number of early brass instruments: sackbut, ophicleide and serpent. He is also an ethnomusicologist, making a special study of gamelan music of Indonesia (where he lived for 12 years) and he directs the Sundanese gamelan ensemble Sekar Enggal.

Claire Phoenix
Duo Voice & Guitar – Soul / Jazz / Blues
Claire, singer-songwriter has a wealth of experience singing and performing. As well as leading her eponymous and successful band, Claire is constantly in demand as guest vocalist for jazz ensembles. She is the 2010 jazz vocalist winner of the PureSolo competition in association with Jazz FM!
Tonight, she is joined by fantastic guitarist Steve Grattan. His fretless bass delivers a distinctive sound that brings an enriching warmth to each performance.

Cuisine and Music from Indonesia
The Far East is back at Palette! Our chefs will delight you with their authentic rendition of Indonesian cuisine, such as Mee Goreng Bali, Beef Rendang or Tunis Terong.
Simon Cook brings back his Gamelan ensemble Sekar Enggal with the amazing sounds of Indonesian bronze instruments such as large hanging gongs, smaller gong kettles, metallophones and others.

Robert has been teaching woodwind at schools for many years (including the renowned Gordon’s School), as well as performing at prestigious venues such as The Royal Festival Hall Foyer, Henley Royal Regatta and Brooklands Museum. He also does musical demonstration and talks for schools and other organisations.

The Jammy Collective have been Jazzin’ Around Surrey over the last year and their events always prove to be great fun. With a core collection of fantastic players you’ll be in for a treat and get to see just how those jazz musicians create the music as they go. From saxophone players to bass, vox and drums, the jam always welcomes new faces so if you are a singer or instrumentalist then do come along to meet everyone and play some of your favourite songs.

Singer pianist – Alternative / Acoustic /Â Jazz
Irish born Rae Evans is a singer, pianist and songwriter. She has a unique storytelling style and a soulful, jazzy voice. She has just come back from a fantastic European tour where she performed in 7 countries in 5 weeks singing songs and telling the stories of the people she met! Rae also performs with her collective Coraline and plays a combination of original songs and classic covers with a modern twist.
