Palette Bistro & Wine Bar

We are a young independent Bistro & Wine Bar, located in the award-winning gallery, The Lightbox, in Woking.

We are strong believers in getting both good quality and seasonal produce locally. Our concept is based around enjoying and experimenting with taste by combining different dishes with different wines to tantalise the palate and discover new flavours. We take pride in offering a fast friendly service and our (kitchen & front of house) team’s dedication is felt by our customers, who come back again and again.

Our restaurant is a fantastic venue for those looking for somewhere to meet that’s a little different from the everyday coffee shops in town, as well as having The Lightbox to offer additional entertainment too.

During the day, our BISTRO offers Fairtrade Ethiopian coffees, Teapigs teas, delicious cakes, and seasonal dishes. Our menu presents a good choice of delicious starters, mains and daily specials. The venue offers a relaxed atmosphere for family meals, a break from shopping, or a quiet place for business meetings with its free Wi-Fi.

In the evening, the WINE BAR opens from 5pm, and you can choose from our freshly prepared A La Carte menu for a full restaurant dining experience or simply enjoy an after-work drinks and nibbles alfresco in our lovely private terrace, by the Basingstoke Canal.

Our Special Events

Situated between the Brewery Road car park and The Ambassadors theatres & cinemas, we are the ideal location for Pre-Theatre Dinners. You can come join us before the show for a delicious 3 course meal or just for some drinks and nibbles. You can take advantage of our regular special offers and also our joint offers with The Ambassadors.

Fridays and Saturdays are our Live Music Nights! Every weekend, fantastic local (and some international) musicians perform live from 7.30pm until late. They play a great variety of genres from Jazz to Rock, Swing to Pop. It is free entry and you are welcome to book or just turn up on the night.

And every month, we feature a country and organise Themed Wine Tastings (6 dishes paired up with 6 wines) and Themed Nights (traditional cuisine and music). Our Indonesian and Mauritian Themed Nights have been very popular, and we have some more great evenings to come! We hope you will join us soon in our restaurant for a Caribbean cocktail or an Australian BBQ!

We are doing our bit for the environment

We are aware that everybody needs to do their bit to help the environment and we have put in place a recycling policy in our restaurant for cardboard, paper, glass… as part of our day to day running.

We have also gone one step further and are working together with a local allotment: we give them our food waste for composting and they send us their surplus vegetables. It is a full ‘green’ circle!

We support our local community

We work closely with local businesses and support some fantastic local and national charities, such as MND Association West Surrey Branch, Friends of Woking Community Hospital, British Red Cross, etc….
